         Born in Magenta, in 1983, Matteo Falcier is one of the most charismatic tenors of his generation. He is graduated with highest honours at the Conservatorio G. Verdi di Milano. He continuate his formation at the Accademia della Scala and Accademia Rodolfo Celletti, in Martina Franca, Italy. He is currently studying with the reputed soprano Francesca Patanè.

         He has already performed in several major theatres, working conductors as Riccardo Muti, J. Conlon, R. Abbado, D. Rustioni, C. Goldstein, G. Bisanti, R. Boer , F.M. Carminati and P. Rizzo, and such directors as C. Mazzavillani, L. Muscato, D. Michieletto, T. Gilliam, G. Strehler, J.P. Ponnelle and F. Ozpetek.

              In 2010, he made his debut in Cimarosa’s Il Matrimonio Segreto, as Paolino, at the Stresa Festival and Teatro Regio di Torino. In 2016, he sung the roles of Rodolfo in Puccini’s La Bohème (Circuito Lombardo), Rinuccio in the Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi (Teatro dell’Opera di Roma), Fenton in the Verdi’s Falstaff (Luglio Musicale Trapanese), and Basilio in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro (Wiener Staatsoper, conducted by Riccardo Muti). In 2017, he played the roles of Tebaldo in Bellini’s I Capuleti e i Montecchi (Teatro Filarmonico di Verona) and Alfredo in Verdi’s La Traviata (Teatro San Carlo di Napoli). He also sung Puccini’s Manon Lescaut (New Zealand Opera), Alfredo in the Japanese tour of La Traviata (Teatro dell’Opera di Bologna) and debuted the iconic role of Duca di Mantova in Verdi’s Rigoletto (Circuito Lombardo). In 2018, Falcier performed as Beppe in Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci (Teatro dell’Opera di Roma), Paolino in Il Matrimonio Segreto (Opéra Royal de Wallonie) and Don Ottavio in Mozart’s Don Giovanni (Opéra de Nice). In 2019, he sung Ernesto in Donizetti’s Don Pasquale (Teatro Filarmonico di Verona), Spiridione in Donizetti’s Il Campanello dello Speziale (Teatro Lirico di Cagliari), Don Basilio in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro (Riccardo Muti Italian Opera Academy), conducted again by Maestro Riccardo Muti. On the season 2019-2020, he played the role of Arnoldo in Donizetti’s Guglielmo Tell (Circuito Lombardo and Teatro dell’Opera di Pisa).

          His upcoming engagements include the Duke of Mantua in Verdi’s Rigoletto, at the Jerusalem Opera, and Beppe in Pagliacci, at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari.
