Giorgio Misseri tenor

       Born in Palermo, he began to study singing at Vincenzo Bellini Conservatory in his hometown, where he graduated with full marks. Giorgio Misseri has been awarded at several international singing competitions, including the first prize at International Opera Competition “Città di Lucca – Giacomo Puccini”, the second prize at International Competition for Opera Singers “Simone Alaimo” in Sicily, the third prize at International Opera Competition “Città di Bologna”, the first prize at 6th International Opera Singing Competition “Francesco Maria Martini” di Mantova.

          Giorgio Misseri distinguished himself from the beginning of his career as an excellent interpreter of belcanto and Rossini repertoire: in 2004 he received the scholarship dedicated to M° Napoleone Annovazzi as best interpreter of Rossini repertoire; in 2006, as ambassador of Italian belcanto, he had the chance to performe in Japan, at the prestigious Biwako Hall in Shiga. In 2011 he attended the Accademia Rossiniana in Pesaro, where he studied with M° Alberto Zedda, and made his debut at the Rossini Opera Festival as Cavalier Belfiore in Il Viaggio a Reims, before being invited back by ROF for L’Occasione fa il Ladro and Matilde di Shabran. In 2011 he had his debut at the Teatro Comunale di Ferrara singing the leaging role in the world premiere of the contemporary opera Torquato Tasso, with lyrics by Goethe.

          Among the many roles in Giorgio Misseri’s repertoire: Nemorino in L’Elisir d’Amore (Teatro La Fenice di Venezia), Conte d’Almaviva in Il Barbiere di Siviglia (Russian tour with the Academy of Teatro alla Scala, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and Teatro La Fenice), Don Ramiro in La Cenerentola (Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Teatro Regio di Torino and Teatro Massimo di Palermo), Malcolm in Verdi's Macbeth and Giannetto in La Gazza Ladra (Teatro Filarmonico di Verona) Conte Alberto in L’Occasione fa il Ladro (Venezia), La Scala di Seta, La Cambiale di Matrimonio and L’Inganno Felice (Teatro Malibran and Teatro La Fenice), the title role of Auber’s Fra Diavolo (Opera di Roma and Palermo), Ernesto in Don Pasquale (Teatro Fraschini di Pavia and Teatro Verdi di Trieste), Roudi in Guillaume Tell (Teatro Comunale di Bologna and Staatsoper Hamburg), Elvino in La Sonnambula (Trieste and Rome), Ferrando in Così fan Tutte (Piacenza, Ravenna, Palma de Mallorca), Rodrigo in Rossini’s Otello (Teatro San Carlo di Napoli), and Fenton in Verdi's Falstaff (Palermo).
