Diana Axentii soprano

       Originally from Moldavia, Diana Axentii moved to France to pursue her vocal studies at the National Conservatory in Lyon, where she graduated with distinctions.

           She is an award-winner of several international competitions: UPMCF in Paris, George Enescu in Bucharest, Montserrat Caballé in Andorra and Queen Elisabeth in Brussels. She was a former member of the Opera Studio in Lyon, the Atelier Lyrique of the Paris National Opera, Verbier and the Aix-en-Provence Academy.

         She started her career as a mezzo-soprano (singing at the Paris Opera and on most of the French opera houses, as well as in Brussels, Monte-Carlo, Amsterdam, Liege, Berlin, Glyndebourne, Boston and Japan). As a lirico-dramatic soprano, now she sings roles as Norma (Rouen, Bilbao and Moldavia), Contessa in Le Nozze di Figaro (touring production in France, Switzerland and Bulgaria), The Schoolboy in Godard’s Dante (Münchner Rundfunkorchester, Opéra de Saint-Étienne and Opéra Royal de Versailles, conducted by Ulf Schemer), Dorotea in Stiffelio (Bilbao Opera), Oenone in Lemoyne's Phèdre (Théâtre de Caen, Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord in Paris, Opéra de Reims, Opéra-Théâtre de Metz and Opéra de Limoges), Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus (Festival O in Montpellier), Cio-Cio-San in Madama Butterfly (Opéra de Rennes), among others.

          In the concert field, she sang Mahler’s 4th Symphony and Kindertotenlieder (Saint-Céré), Martini’s Requiem and Berlioz’ Messe Solennelle, with the Concert Spirituel (Berlioz Festival at Côte Saint-André), Maître Péronilla in an Offenbach' concert, at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, and a serie of concerts on tour with the Opéra de Limoges.

          During the season 2020-2021, she will sing Marianne in Der Rosenkavalier, at Opéra Grand Avignon, several gala concerts with the Opéra de Limoges, and Beethoven's Christus am Ölberge, with the Oradea Philharmonic in Romania, among others.
