Daria Cherniy mezzo-soprano

           Daria was born in 1993. She graduated from the St. Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory in 2016, where she performed as Lyubasha in Rimsky-Korsakov's The Tsar's Bride and Olga in Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin.             Daria is the winner of the Feruccio Tagliavini International Vocal Competition (Deutschlandsberg, Austria, 2019), 2nd Prize of the International Opera Singing Competition "Angelo Loforese" (Milan, Italy, 2017) and finalist at the International Competition for Young Opera Singers “Giusy Devinu” (Cagliari, Italy, 2017).         

          In 2015, she was admised at Monte-Carlo Opera Academy. Since 2016, she has been a member of the Primorskiy Stage Opera Company, at the Mariinsky Theatre (Vladivostok, Russia), where she performend as Flora in La Traviata and Olga in Eugene Onegin. Since 2017, she has been a soloist of the Mikhailovskiy Theatre (St. Petersburg, Russia).

              Between 2017 and 2019, Daria Cherniy was a Soloist of Accademia Teatro alla Scala, where she performed as Giovanna in Verdi's Ernani, Lucienne in Korngold's Die tote Stadt, Zita in Gianni Schicchi and Maddalena in Rigoletto.

              In October 2019, she has made her debut at Festival Verdi as Amneris in Aida, at Teatro Regio di Parma.
