Bianca Tognocchi soprano

          The lyrico-leggero soprano was born in Como, Italy, and studied on the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi di Milano, with Adelina Sacarabelli and Roberto Coviello. She won and has been laureated in important competitions, like the 65th Concorso Internazionale per Giovani Cantanti Lirici d’Europa, in 2014.

           With the AsLiCo Pocket Opera, she sang Barbarina (Le Nozze di Figaro), Annina (La Traviata), Ninetta (La Finta Semplice). At the Tiroler Festspiele von Erl, she sang Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro), Zerlina (Don Giovanni) and the solos from the Bach’s Weihnachtsoratorio, conducted by Gustav Kuhn, in 2012. In the same year, she came back to Erl, to sing in opening season and New Year’s concerts.

          In 2013, she sang a cycle of sacred music concerts with the Orchestra Haydn, in Bolzano and Trento. In 2014 she sang the title role in Lucia di Lammermoor, at the Teatro Donizetti di Bergamo. With OperaLombardia, she sang roles such as Olympia in Les Contes d’Hoffmann, Giulia in La Scala di Seta and Adina in L’Elisir d’Amore. Other following debuts went Sandmännchen/Taumännchen in Hänsel und Gretel, at the Teatro Regio di Torino, and Nannetta in Verdi's Falstaff, at the Ravenna Festival, conducted by Riccardo Muti, with his Italian Opera Academy.

          In 2015, she has participated at the world premiere of Adriano Guarnieri’s opera L’amor che Move il Sole e l’Altre Stelle, at Ravenna Festival and Festival dei Due Mondi, in Spoleto. Also in 2015, she sang Giannetta in L’Elisir d’Amore, at the Teatro alla Scala and on a live broadcast production at Malpensa Airport. Bianca Tognocchi has also sung Aminta in Mozart’s Il Re Pastore, at the Opéra de Chambre de Genève.

            In 2018, she debuted as Gilda in Verdi's Rigoletto, at the Malmö Opera, she sang Elvira in L’italiana in Algeri, at Opéra National de Lorraine and Baroque Festival in Beaune (France), and again Adina in L’Elisir d’Amore, at the Sejong Arts Center in Seoul (Korea).

        Other important debuts for her in 2019, was the roles of Amina in La Sonnambula and Die Nachtigall in Braunfels’ Die Vögel, at the Tiroler Festspiele Erl.

         Between 2018 and 2019, Bianca Tognocchi  was a member of the ensemble of the Oper Leipzig, singing Gilda, Lucia di Lammermoor, Adina, Hüter der Schwelle (Die Frau ohne Schatten), Italienische Sängerin (Capriccio), Frasquita (Carmen) , Waldvogel (Siegfried), and many other roles.

           Since 2020, she is member of the ensemble of the Oper Frankfurt.

      She has worked with important artists such as Riccardo Muti, G. Kuhn, F. Luisi, F. Haider, U. Schirmer, L. Zagrosek, J. C. Spinosi, R. Villazón, V. Grigolo, M. Pertusi, D. Michieletto, K. Holten and P. L. Pizzi, among others.

         Her last engagements include the title role in Lucia di Lammermoor, at the Theater Darmstadt, and the title role in Donizetti's Lucrezia Borgia, at the Teatro Verdi di Trieste. She also held recitals at Berlin Philarmonie and Philharmonie Essen.

            Among her next engagements, Bianca Tognocchi will sing Madama Brillante in Pergolesi's L'Italiana a Londra, Despina in Così fan Tutte, Gilda in Rigoletto and Contessa Olga Sukarev in Giordano's Fedora, at the Oper Frankfurt. She will also sing Despina at the Mozarteum Salzburg.
